Hi all. Thinking of buying a transit connect but don’t know what’s the best engine to go for. I’m looking at 15-16 plates as a runabout and I’m sure it may have about 100k ish miles on it. Seen it on adverts saying the 1.5 isn’t a reliable engine.
You may have a problem not being able to regen at all even forced if your up stream HC doser isn't working or the injector is coked shut. You need to make a certain amount of heat in a certain amount of time in order to regen and if enough heat is NOT made in the early stage of a regen then it won't complete one and keep adding to the ash counter.
P0251 and P1211 are unfortunately just indicators of a problem, usually in the fuelling system. The injectors don't lose codes. Your car is an early model and had a two box system for controlling the engine (ecu) and the injectors (icu) and most diagnostic systems including Fords own IDS cannot read the codes.
The controls are very easy to use, light pedals and steering. It does handle well. The back is spacious. Bigger than it looks. I'm sure it will be very reliable and cheap to run. There are quite a few flaws though. The engine is horrible, it seems very unresponsive.
Regularly assessing and replacing spark plugs as needed can prevent potential problems and keep your ford 1. 5 tdci engine running at its best. Turbocharger Inspection And Maintenance. Ford’s 1. 5 tdci engine has gained popularity among car enthusiasts for its performance and efficiency. However, like any other engine, it is not immune to issues.
