The D3100 shoots 1080p HD video at 24 fps (frames per second), and 720p HD video at 24, 25, or 30 fps. Each MOV clip can be up to 10 minutes long and there is full manual control in video mode.
Those of you using the base level Nikon DSLRs (D3nnn, perhaps the D5nnn too) will know they output clean 1080p HDMI video over their HDMI socket. And it's pretty fine quality, great for streaming or video conferencing purposed from bodies that are really cheap these days.
I'm going to be shooting 3 interviews soon (they'll be around 10-15 min). I have a friend who's going to let me borrow his d5100. Unlike the gh2 or video cameras, I read the d5100 can only record 20 min. at a time. If I get 3 32gb sd cards, will I be able to record 20 min. of video on each?
