Seeing conflicting reports. Looks like the glitch involving a smoker and potatoes that yield monstrous amounts of XP may of may not work on Java 1.17. Reports say it works if the player initially runs enough potatoes through the smoker to fill both the chest and the hopper. Others say this glitch has been patched.
So I made an XP mob farm on my realm and I'm having difficulties. I used the farm design from the youtuber FazyCraft. Pretty simple to make. I made it 128 blocks from the ground and over 250 blocks away from our main building area so that it wouldn't use up the mob count. Monsters do NOT spawn on slabs, if you are using double slabs then they wont work. You also need to be 30-100 blocks away for them to spawn. There can not be a cave nearby, or else the mobs will spawn in the cave! Dig under the spawner-drop-area a ways to look for caves, and light them up!
